Support to Continue the Life You Love

Assisted Living in Columbia County, GA | Brandon Wilde

At The Colonnade, personal care begins with understanding who a resident is beyond what they need. Daily support is provided in the resident’s apartment by a team trained to offer precisely the right level of assistance and nothing less. Recognized multiple years running in Augusta Chronicle's Cyber City’s Best Community’s Choice Awards and Columbia County Magazine's 100 Best, The Colonnade delivers a personal care experience built on 35-plus years of earned trust.

Owned and managed by LCS — ranked #1 in independent senior living satisfaction by J.D. Power seven years running.

What Is Personal Care?

Assisted living, sometimes called personal care, is designed for individuals who are largely active and independent but need reliable support with some activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, medication management, or mobility. It bridges the space between fully independent living and full-time skilled nursing care, offering hands-on help with daily tasks while preserving as much autonomy as possible.

At Brandon Wilde, personal care residents enjoy the same dining, wellness programs, and green spaces that make life here extraordinary. For LifeCare® residents, the transition to personal care is seamless – with predictable costs and no need to leave the community they love.

“It’s so wonderful here and there’s so much to do. I would encourage a decision sooner rather than later. It just makes sense to enjoy life.”

– Sandee W., Resident

How do I know when I or someone I love needs personal care?

It’s best to start with a physician’s assessment. Depending on the circumstances of your situation or that of your loved one, you can match needs to the right level of assistance. When help with daily tasks is needed – taking medicines, bathing, dressing, meals, transportation, and housekeeping – personal care can be the answer. Trained professionals provide support while helping preserve your independence. If you notice signs that your loved one may need extra help, our team is here to help you talk through your options.

What if my loved one needs more than what’s provided in personal care?

At Brandon Wilde, we offer a full continuum of care. In addition to personal care, we provide memory care, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing services. These levels of living provide around-the-clock care for individuals recovering from illness or injury and those needing more long-term care or cognitive support.

How do I know if my parent needs personal care or memory care?

Personal care is for seniors who need extra help with the activities of daily living, while memory care is for those who struggle with symptoms of advanced dementia, like memory loss, confusion, wandering, or behavioral changes. While deciding which level of care is best for your parent or loved one isn’t always clear, the sooner you talk with a physician and address your concerns, the more time you’ll have to make a plan for the future.

As a Life Plan Community, Brandon Wilde offers the entire continuum, from independent living through assisted living and personal care, specialized memory care, and medical support, to help seniors live independently for as long as possible. Call 706-868-9800 today to schedule a consultation.
