Brandon Wilde to Honor Five Residents with Quilt of Valor Recognition

AUGUSTA, GA — November 19, 2025 — Senior LifePlan community Brandon Wilde, in partnership with the Quilts of Valor® Foundation, will proudly honor five resident veterans during a special Quilt of Valor Award Ceremony on Wednesday, November 19 at 11 a.m. The event marks a highlight in the community’s week-long tribute recognizing the service and sacrifice of its veterans. “We are honored to partner with Quilts of Valor to recognize the veterans who call Brandon Wilde home,” said Executive Director, John Pulliam. “This ceremony is a meaningful way to acknowledge their courage, resilience, and service to our country.”

The Quilts of Valor Foundation is dedicated to covering Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. Each quilt serves as a heartfelt symbol of gratitude, expressing a clear message: “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.”
To be designated an official Quilt of Valor (QOV), each quilt must meet specific size standards, include a label with required information, be formally awarded—not merely given—and be recorded in the foundation’s national registry. In 2025 alone, more than 25,000 Quilts of Valor were awarded across the country.
The foundation’s origins trace back to 2003, when founder Catherine Roberts was inspired by a vivid dream while her son Nat was deployed to Iraq. In the dream, Roberts saw a young soldier hunched in despair, surrounded by the invisible burdens of war. The scene then shifted, showing him wrapped in a quilt—his expression transformed from anguish to comfort, hope, and well-being. This powerful image became the catalyst for the creation of the Quilts of Valor Founda
