Hurricane Helene Update 9/29/24 AM
Brandon Wilde Awaits Governor Kemp’s Next Steps for Columbia County
As of 10:30am on Sunday, September 29, 2024, Brandon Wilde is pleased to say our residents are safe and enjoying the benefits of retirement living at a Brandon Wilde. While hospitality is our focus, we have been able to perfect that in the last few days and supply the highest quality of services and amenities for our residents. Our dining is still preparing extravagant dining experiences for all meals for the entire building for over 500 residents and staff.
Due to the nature of the storm, we are awaiting FEMA and State of Emergency information from Governor Kemp.
As Greg Byrge and Camille Bruce, who are the administrators of Independent Living and the Health Center for Brandon Wilde, stated, our residents and staff are all doing well and we are very fortunate to have generators and dedicated staff to support our buildings.
Georgia Power has reported over 1 million power outages across the state, and utility crews from other parts of the country have come to support the relief efforts. Brandon Wilde is working very closely with the power company to restore electricity as quickly as possible for our residents and their families.
For the safety of our residents, employees, and community, we encourage everyone to be aware of road closures, drive safely, and avoid flooded roadways in the days ahead.
The Brandon Wilde team continues to provide all necessary services for all residents with a continued focus on hospitality and culinary services and more.
The Life Care Services Family Emergency Hotline phone number is 1-888-214-8464 to contact your loved ones if our phone is out of service due to the storm.
