As of September 27, 2024, 8:30 a.m. the Augusta Georgia area is under multiple weather advisories. The National Weather Service in Columbia issued a Tropical Storm Warning and Flood watch for multiple Augusta area counties, which will remain active until Friday afternoon. The latest forecast calls for 25-35 mph winds, with gusts reaching 60 mph. Columbia County spokesperson strongly advised that you stay off the roadways until the storm is passed.
