Hurricane Helene Update 9/25/24 PM

Governor Brian Kemp has declared a state of emergency in Georgia in anticipation of now Hurricane Helene, which may make landfall as a Category 3 hurricane on the Florida Gulf coast and affect parts of Georgia. The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA) warns of Helene bringing 4 to 8 inches of rain, with hurricane-level winds possible as far north as Macon and advises residents to prepare for significant power outages. Residents are advised to be aware of potential flooding, power outages, and tornadoes.

As of 4:30 pm September 25, 2024, we will continue to keep our residents and staff updated. Helene is currently a tropical storm approaching the Florida coast and is expected to make landfall in the Florida Peninsula Thursday evening bringing a variety of potential hazards to our forecasted area late Thursday evening and Friday morning.
