Brandon Wilde—An Active, Fun, and Engaging Lifestyle

The changing seasons and the natural beauty of Eastern Georgia has Brandon Wilde residents smiling these days. Helen McGrady is happily settling in and enjoying an active life in her new community. “I am from Augusta, and I am busier now than I was before I moved! Brandon Wilde offers us many excursions and activities,” said Helen. “With so much to do, it’s easy to have fun and share memorable times with new friends and neighbors.”

For the past 32 years, Brandon Wilde’s culture has focused on giving seniors the freedom to be themselves while offering greater peace of mind. Jacob Elliott, Executive Director, says, “while we are a retirement community, there’s nothing retiring about our senior living lifestyle or the people who live here. You can be as active, social, and involved as you want.”

The upcoming calendar is full of various experiences designed to delight residents. Take a walk along the trails in the McDuffie Public Fishing area and enjoy the wildlife and the crisp air. Learn why nature can statistically reduce stress, anxiety, and depression and increase creativity, focus, and hope.

Have fun with friends this festive season at the resident’s Holiday Party, Holiday Light Tour, The Louisville Garden Club Display of Nativity, and the Arts and Crafts Holiday Sale and Auction. If you like music, we have organized an evening trip of Traditional Irish Music, with pipes and flutes, or hear the Augusta Pops feature the music of Elton John or the Augusta Symphony presenting the beautiful music of Elgar and Brahms. On campus, feel energized by the USC Aiken Concert Choir songs, and residents can get decked out themselves and join in song at our Festive Sweater Christmas Song Sing-Along.

If keeping tabs on your health is essential, Brandon Wilde pairs up with medical experts from Augusta University to offer you opportunities to hear in-depth talks about issues that may impact your health or the health of someone you know. Dozens of fitness classes are offered monthly, including chances to keep your body in motion, stretch and balance, water walking, pickle ball, Tai chi, or chair yoga.

Keeping your mind sharp is the key to good quality of life; join our weekly Tech Talk discussion on improving your existence with modern technology. Coming up our Master Series-Spelling BEE, and a chance to use your memory skills and “bee” in a friendly competition with other residents to become our star speller.

Do you have a particular interest in and love being part of a group? Our friendly residents have many interests that meet monthly: the genealogy club, paint & sip, birding group, needlework group, greeting card club, dinner club, lunch bunch, and so on. Staying busy and active, whether educational or just for fun, is a necessity here.
