Cyber Seniors is coming to Brandon Wilde
Cyber Seniors is coming to Brandon Wilde, the first time the program has been offered in this area. The International Campaign aims to promote intergeneration connections. Its goal is to engage youth mentors in bridging the technology gap by empowering older adults to use technology to expand their social and physical worlds. The program allows students to earn community service hours, seniors to gain advancing technology skills, and organizations to bridge the digital divide between the youth and seniors.
An introductory Meet & Greet was held with residents on October 26th. Thirty area high school students will be matched with thirty Brandon Wilde residents for eight weeks of training in everything from IPhones to IPADs. Greenbrier High School Senior Sam Chu is excited to be the first to introduce this program to the area. What started as his senior project has turned into an opportunity to impact several lives. For his senior project, Chu will record the progress each senior makes over two months.
